How do I access the Settings Menu?

Hover over the arrow next to "Add Post" and select "Settings."

How do I make an outside feed show in my site's template?

Step 1: Open the settings menu.

Step 2: In the resulting popup, click "Feeds" from the left.

Step 3: Click the arrow on the drop-down labeled "Feeds Post Link."

Step 4: Select "As a new post."

Step 5: Click "Save" to save and exit or "Save & Continue" to save and continue working.

How do I change the size of the images that appear next to my posts?

Step 1: Open the settings menu.

Step 2: In the resulting popup, select "Images" from the left.

Step 3: Type the new height/width in its respective field.

Step 4: Click "Save" to save and exit or "Save & Continue" to save and continue working.

What is the Module Name and why should I change it?

The module name controls what is displayed on the "Sharing" page in the Settings. Changing the module name can be useful if there are multiple blog modules on the same page.

How do I turn on pagination?

Step 1: Open the settings menu.

Step 2: In the resulting popup, select the check box under "Pagination".

Step 3: Click "Save" to save and exit or "Save & Continue" to save and continue working.

How do I limit the number of posts per page

Step 1: Open the settings menu.

Step 2: In the resulting popup, type the number of posts you want to display per page in the "Posts Per Page" text box.

Step 3: Click "Save" or "Save & Continue".

How do I add a tag cloud?

Step 1: Open the settings menu.

Step 2: Check "On/Yes" under "Tag Cloud Display."

Step 3: Click "Save" to save and exit or "Save & Continue" to save and continue working.

How do I change the number of tags displayed?

Step 1: Open the settings menu.

Step 2: Type the desired number of tags to display in the "Tags to List" field.
Step 2a: Unlimited tags: Enter a 0 into this field.

Step 3: Click "Save" to save and exit or "Save & Continue" to save and continue working.

How do I change the way comments are handled?

Step 1: Open the settings menu.

Step 2: In the resulting popup, click "Comments" on the left-hand "navigation".

Step 3: Click the drop-down labeled "Comment Setting" and select the option you want. The choices are:

  • Do not allow comments ← default
  • Allow comments
  • Allow comments with approval

Step 3a: If you want only users with an account on your site— those with a username and password—to leave comments, click the check box labeled "Comment Usersonly".

Step 4: Click "Save" or "Save & Continue".

How do I approve and/or delete comments?

Step 1: Hover over the arrow next to "Add Post" and select "Comments."

Step 2: Select the comments you wish to approve or delete. You can also click the "Select/Deselect All" to apply actions to every comment in the queue.

Step 3: Click "Go >"

How do I make a Read More link show at the end of my summary?

Step 1: Open the settings menu.

Step 2: In the resulting popup, click "Display" from the left.

Step 3: Towards the bottom of this page, click the check box marked "Read More Link".

Step 4: Click "Save" to save and exit or "Save & Continue" to save and continue working.

How do I create a custom display for my blog/news items on the main listings page?

Step 1: Open the settings menu and select "Display" from the left.

Step 2: Select "Custom Display (Specified Below)" from the "Layout Options" dropdown

Step 3a: Use the "Layout Manager" to specify the display.
Step 3b: Select the desired element from the left and click "Add >" to add it to the display.
Elements can be added in any order.
Step 3c: To remove an element, select it from the right and click "< Remove" to remove it.
Please note, the information in the following fields are controlled from the Add Post dialogue.

  • Title displays the clickable title of the blog.
  • Byline displays "Posted by «Author» on «Publish Date»"
  • Author displays the author.
  • Body displays the main body of the blog.
  • Summary displays the summary of the blog.
  • Date_live displays the publish date of the blog.
  • Image displays the blog's image.

Step 4: Save your work and refresh the page to view your changes.

Step 5: Repeat steps 3a-4 until the desired look is achieved.

How do I import/remove an outside feed into my blog?

Step 1: Open the settings menu.

Step 2: In the resulting popup, click "Feeds" from the left.

Step 3: Click the "Add Feed" link below the "Feeds RSS Import" area.

Step 4: Type or paste the URL of the feed into the popup.

Step 5: Click Ok.

Step 6: Repeat steps 1-3 until all the feeds are inputted.

Step 7: Click "Save" to save and exit or "Save and Continue" to save and continue working.

To remove a feed...

Step 1: Click the feed name you no longer want from the "Feeds RSS Import" area.

Step 2: Click "Remove Feed".

Step 3: Repeat steps 1-2 until all the desired feeds are removed.

Step 4: Click "Save" to save and exit or "Save and Continue" to save and continue working.

The feed won't stay deleted…

What is Sharing and how do I do it?

What is sharing?

Sharing a blog module from one page to another allows you to have different blogs on different topics (like News, General Blog, Blog on a Specific Topic) and have all the topics show on one page.

How do I do it?

Step 1: Place a blog module on the page you want to feed into.

Step 2: Open the settings menu and select "Sharing" from the left.

Step 3: Click the check box(es) next to the blog(s) you want to have fed in. The format is always:

  • [Blog Name] on [Page Name]

This page is why it is useful to change the blog name.

Step 4: Click "Save" to save and exit or "Save and Continue" to save and continue working.
